Most of the other versions of Ragnarok are operated by a different online entertainment company which obtained a license from GRAVITY Co., Ltd. An Oceanic version known as Oceania Ragnarok Online (oRO) is now fully released and went pay-to-play at the start of December 2004, finishing the beta stage. There is also a version for players in India ( RO India)(July 2004), Germany, Italy, Austria, Turkey and Switzerland (better known as European RO or EuRO)(2004). A sequel is currently in development, Ragnarok Online 2. An anime was created called Ragnarok The Animation which is based on the game. Much of the background of the game is based on the manhwa Ragnarok by Lee Myung-Jin. Ragnarok Online ( RO) is an MMORPG created by GRAVITY Co., Ltd.
